Humanitarian action
PDM team members have undertaken short and long-term assignments in over 20 countries in Africa and Asia, supporting humanitarian and emergency operations. In the Asia-Pacific region these countries include Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. The core services provided by PDM include:
- Advising on humanitarian and emergency relief policy
- Preparing operational guidelines
- Assisting with emergency assessments
- Preparing emergency response strategies
- Conducting reviews and evaluations; and
- Staff training in standards and operational procedures
